The midsize pickup segment has been coming into its own these days. There are several options available in this class, but the 2020 Chevrolet Colorado is one of the most appealing choices. The Colorado is ideal for buyers at dealerships like Twin Falls Chevrolet who are interested in buying a pickup but don’t need the size and capability of a full-size truck. The Colorado offers several configurations to choose from, with many trim levels and engine choices. It may not be able to tow and haul as many pounds as a full-size truck like the Silverado 1500, but everyone doesn’t need that kind of muscle. Besides, the Colorado is much more maneuverable than a large truck.
You can get the 2020 Colorado configured as a work truck, a nicely capable towing machine, or an off-roader. Like last year, there are three engines to choose from, but the folks at the Chevrolet dealer in Twin Falls tell us that for 2020, there’s greater availability of safety features such as lane departure warning and forward collision warning. There’s also a newly available remote-locking tailgate this year. Buyers who have been searching for a solid and capable midsize pickup will want to place the 2020 Chevrolet Colorado atop their shopping list.
Car and Driver praised the Colorado, writing: “The 2020 Colorado is a four-wheeled shape-shifter, with the ability to adapt and excel to most any task you set before it. There are two cab sizes and two cargo-bed lengths and several engine choices. The base engine is a four-cylinder; optional engines include a peppy V-6 and a fuel-efficient, class-exclusive diesel. And when equipped with that diesel, the Colorado can tow a class-best 7700 pounds. ... the Colorado is a versatile truck that meets the needs of a wide range of buyers.”

The 2020 Chevrolet Colorado is offered in extended-cab and crew-cab configurations, with two bed sizes and five models: Base, Work Truck (WT), LT, Z71 and ZR2. The 2020 Chevy Colorado is available with either rear-wheel drive or four-wheel drive, depending on the model.
The 2020 Chevy Colorado is powered by a standard 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine that makes 200 horsepower and 191 lb-ft of torque, teamed to a six-speed manual transmission or a six-speed automatic. This engine has a maximum towing capacity of 3,500 pounds. An available 3.6-liter V6 generates 308 hp and 275 lb-ft of torque, paired to an eight-speed automatic gearbox. The maximum towing capacity is 7,000 pounds. Crew cab models have an optional 2.8-liter Duramax turbodiesel inline-four that develops 186 hp and 369 lb-ft, joined to a six-speed automatic gearbox. Maximum towing capacity is 7,700 pounds with rear-wheel drive.
Inside, you’ll find the sensibilities of a no-nonsense pickup, combined with technology equipment like an 8-inch touchscreen, Wi-Fi and smartphone integration. The crew cab features split and fold rear seats, which provide ample space for cargo. There’s also plenty of space to store cargo under the seats.
Standard safety features include a rearview camera and Teen Driver, which allows parents to set the top speed and limit the volume of the audio system when younger drivers are behind the wheel. It even monitors how the Colorado was driven. Optional driver assistance features include forward collision warning, rear parking sensors and lane departure warning.
