They say you shouldn't mess with perfection, and likewise, Chevrolet didn't have to change much on the Chevy Equinox for 2019. But, with that said, they made a couple of additions to help keep this SUV turning heads. So, what's new? Two new exterior colors were added: Pacific Blue Metallic and Kinetic Blue Metallic. A new Lights and Bright Package is now available on 1LT equipment groups, which includes 19-inch Bright machined wheels with Sparkle Silver pockets, 19-inch all-season blackwall tires, LED headlamps, LED tail lamps, chrome grille surround, and molded assist steps. A new LPO-level Interior Enhancement Package was also added to the Equinox that includes premium carpeted floor mats and embroidered front row headrests. Its rearview camera has been upgraded to an HD rearview camera, and its infotainment system has been tweaked to look and function better. Dual USB charging-only ports are now standard on all Chevy Equinox models. The Chevy Equinox was already a safe vehicle, but Chevrolet has made the 2019 version even safer with the addition of two new safety features: Adaptive full-speed cruise control with stop/go- this automatically accelerates and brakes the Equinox up to moderate levels to maintain a driver-selected following distance. It works in most vehicles even under stop-and-go traffic conditions. Front pedestrian braking - this is an active safety technology that aims to prevent vehicle collisions with pedestrians and bicyclists by automatically applying a vehicle's brakes. If the system detects that a pedestrian is directly ahead and a collision is imminent, and the driver has not already applied the brakes, the system alerts the driver and, if necessary, automatically applies the brakes to help reduce the collision's severity or avoid the collision. Beyond all of that, the 2019 Chevrolet Equinox gets better fuel economy ratings than many competitors and has a well-designed interior with an easy-to-use infotainment system.
